First, my deep, abiding thanks to those of you who donated to the upgrades to the church's sound system. As of April 9, we have collected $6275.00 and have spent $5858.50, leaving $416.50 to close out the project. We still have some things to work out as we move to hybrid (in person/Zoom) worship, so this money will be a blessing to complete the good work we have started.

The new mixing board, amplifier, speakers, microphones, mic stands, transmitters, receivers, and all manner of cables have been purchased and installed. We have noticed an improvement in our ability to mix vocals, especially, on Zoom. This will also translate to an improved in-person worship experience, once we are back. Soon! Using our existing projector, and with the purchase of some cables, we will now be able to project the Zoom call in the sanctuary. Those worshipping in the sanctuary and those worshipping on Zoom will be able to see and hear each other. We will continue to broadcast on YouTube as well, with MRVTV picking up our Youtube signal and re-broadcasting that throughout the week.

It still looks a little rough, but it is working. Transmitters for two of our three wireless mics, one of which is new, plus the transmitter for our new hearing assist devices, and the new Yamaha sound board.

Brad Day from Allen Organ Studios has installed a set of audio output jacks for the organ, so we are now in the process of feeding that sound into the mixer as well!

Special thanks to Vince Gauthier: ladder climber, speaker installer, wire runner, electrician, and commando crawler (under the altar area to run speaker wire, microphone cables, and organ wiring).

We aren't quite finished yet, but I'd say we are 90% of the way home with this exciting new addition to the church. Just think of what we might do with the sanctuary now, once we are able to gather again? I can see us hosting lectures, concerts, open mic nights, coffee houses, movie nights, and who knows what! It's time to start dreaming about our future, and how our dreams and God's dreams might become one.

Blessings,

Mark
