2023 Summer Worship & Music Series

Madigan Linnane shared her gift of music in August!

This week begins our Summer Worship Series, "A Story, A Story."

Many "children's" books are a little too long, and too adult, to read to the kids Sunday morning, so I'm taking the summer and sharing some of the best ones with you. These books point to serious themes, though often in funny, poignant ways.

First up is "God Got a Dog," which asks us to consider how we see the Incarnation.  With Father's Day also being this Sunday, this is a good moment to consider the line from John's Gospel about the Incarnation:  "No one has ever seen God. It is God the only Son, who is close to the Father’s heart, who has made him known."  (John 1:18)

While Dorothy, our worship & music director, takes a much deserved summer break, we have a delightful line up of guest musicians performing at the Waitsfield United Church of Christ.

Sunday, June 11, June 18 & June 25 - Returning to WUCC is Amelia Allen on the piano.

Sunday, July 2, Beki Auclair and Rick Rayfield are providing music, including a version of Adam Levine's "Lost Stars."

Saturday, July 8 at 5 p.m. - This is our Mad Marathon special afternoon worship! Jane Cunningham and Debbie Wilson are providing music, including "Bridge Over Troubled Water," "Give a Little Bit," and "You've Got a Friend in Me."  After worship, we will have pizza from Pizza Soul and a movie, TBA.

Sunday, July 16 - Amelia Allen is back at the piano this week.

Sunday, July 23 - Pat Folsom and Dorothy Peck are leading worship.  Amelia will be playing.

Sunday, July 30 - Alli Lewis and Jane Cunningham are leading worship and doing special music.  A two-fer.  Not to be missed!
