Planned Giving

As followers of God, we support the mission and ministries of WUCC by giving during our lifetimes, yet we can also include WUCC in individual estate plans.  Just as we depend on the generosity of previous generations, the future of WUCC depends on our generosity now.  Have you considered including WUCC in your Will?  As you consult with your attorney and accountant, it is one Planned Giving strategy that we encourage you to consider.  Your Planned Gifts can be structured to provide income or other advantages to you during your lifetime – as well as benefits to family, friends and charitable institutions.  Even gifts from small and modest estates can make a big difference in WUCC’s ability to pursue its mission and ministry in to the future.  Indeed, God calls all of us to be good stewards of Creation with the gifts we have.  The following does not constitute legal advice of examples of Planned Giving which include:

Sample Gift Language for your Will or Trust:

A gift to WUCC in your Will or Trust clearly states your confidence that WUCC will continue to serve its mission and make a difference in the lives of future generations.  Working with your attorney, a bequest is easily made when you are preparing your Will or Trust by including one of the following choices:

Residual Gift Language

A residual bequest comes to WUCC after your estate expenses and specific bequests are paid and language similar to the following may be used in your Will or Trust:

“I give, bequeath and devise all (or ____ percent) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to the Waitsfield United Church of Christ, Inc., or its successors, to support its mission and ministries.”

Specific Gift Language

A second type of gift would be a gift to WUCC as a beneficiary of a specific amount from your estate and working with your attorney, it is easily accomplished using the following language in your Will or Trust:

“I give, bequeath, and devise to the Waitsfield United Church of Christ, Inc., or its successors, the sum of $______ to support to support its mission and ministries.”

“It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.”
