The Waitsfield UCC is blessed with an active and vibrant music ministry. Its four-part choir sings 2 pieces weekly, as well as leads the congregation in singing of hymns from the Chalice Hymnal. The choir is directed and accompanied by organist/pianist Dorothy Peck.
The church is graced with both a Steinway Baby Grand piano and an Allen DB40 three manual Organ.
Beginning the Thursday after Labor Day, the choir rehearses on Thursday evenings at the church from 7:00-8:00pm and Sunday mornings from 9:00-9:40am.
Following Anthem Sunday (mid May), the choir takes a hiatus and its members offer special music on an individual basis during the summer months. Anthem Sunday is always a musical highlight of the year. It features a service comprised of the favorite anthems from the year, interwoven with narrative as prepared by choir members.
Current members of the choir are: (Sopranos) Angelika Brumbaugh, Jane Cunningham, Aurora Cunningham, Nancy Henry, Anne Wallis-Bull; (Altos) Deb Burbank, Tracey Coutts, Karen Nevin, Linda Sinnott; (Tenors) Clive Coutts, Susan Klein, Lisa Parro; (Basses) Peter Delfausse, Rick Rayfield.
If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about the choir or to become a member, please contact director, Dorothy Peck at 802-496-4849.
