An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) was installed in our building this past Thanksgiving. It is mounted on the wall on the lower level (near the side entrance). AEDs save lives, especially when used within 3 to 5 minutes of a cardiac incident. The more of us who are comfortable in its use, the more effective it will be. CPR classes include how to use AEDs.

Laura Caffry and her son Walker are heading up this effort.

We are lucky to have members of the Mad River Valley Ambulance Service and our local fire departments among us who are certified in CPR. There may be other folks in our church family who are currently certified in CPR as well. If you are willing to share this information, please let Laura know.

If you have never learned CPR, or your CPR certification has expired, and you are interested in taking a CPR class, we would like to offer it to you. Please contact Laura if you are interested.

In future editions of News and Notes, we will provide the schedule of CPR classes being held in our area. If there is a lot of interest we will host a class at the church.
